Officials of the Manila North Tollways Corporation (MNTC) discuss the progress of construction of NLEX Harbor Link Segment 9 as they inspect the toll road project recently. Segment 9, which is now more than 50 percent complete, is set for completion in September this year. It will be equipped with one vehicular overpass and one pedestrian overpass each in Santolan and Marcelo streets, five toll booths, and built-in safety features. The 2.4 kilometer, four-lane Segment 9 runs from the Smart Connect Interchange of the NLEX Mindanao Avenue Link to MacArthur Highway in Malinta, Valenzuela.
Segment 9 will significantly decrease travel time to and from the North Harbor by more than half. The road will be an alternative going to C3 and the North Harbor other than the congested Maysan Road in Valenzuela City. The average 30-minute travel time through Maysan Road going to the port area can be taken in about 10 minutes through Segment 9.
