Date Posted : July 01, 2016
Construction crew members rush work on the concrete box culvert and junction box along the southbound portion of NLEX Balintawak, aimed at flood mitigation along the area. This project, at a cost of P3.75-million, is part of the larger and already completed P119 million drainage improvement project of the Manila North Tollways Corporation (MNTC), which covers the northbound side of the Balintawak Cloverleaf and the southbound segment of Valenzuela. Construction works will cover four lanes of Balintawak southbound and will be completed by August 2016. MNTC president and CEO Rodrigo E. Franco explained: “Improving drainage systems serves the larger purpose of providing safe and convenient travel for our NLEX motorists even under inclement weather conditions.” MNTC assures motorists that a traffic management plan is in place around the work area as the tollway company activates patrol and traffic teams in cooperation with the Tollways Management Corporation (TMC), Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and local traffic authorities.
