MNTC expands NLEX Marilao Toll Plaza
Date Posted : December 28, 2015
The Manila North Tollways Corporation expanded the NLEX Marilao Toll Plaza southbound from two to four toll lanes to better serve the increasing number of motorists using the Marilao exit. The additional two mixed lanes were opened to motorists after a simple blessing ceremony attended by MNTC officials led by MNTC President Rodrigo E. Franco (2nd from right) and officiated by Rev. Fr. Prospero Tenorio of the Divine Mercy Shrine.
Franco said the additional toll lanes, costing P37 million, will speed up toll transactions at NLEX Marilao Toll Plaza southbound to provide motorists faster and convenient travel at the NLEX.
“These additional two mixed lanes will definitely address the growing traffic volume in Marilao, especially during peak hours,” Franco added.
Average daily vehicle entries at the NLEX Marilao Toll Plaza southbound have significantly increased by 104 percent since the NLEX opened in 2005. From an average daily traffic of 3,186 vehicles in 2005, it grew to 6,508 vehicles per day in 2015.
