Clean creeks as a way of life
The Manila North Tollways Corporation (MNTC) and the office of Congressman José Christopher “Kit” Y. Belmonte recently launched the San Francisco and Dario Creeks Cleanup Drive in a joint effort to keep Quezon City’s waterways healthy.
Volunteers clean both creeks every second Saturday of the month for the program, which is part of MNTC’s environmental preservation drive and Congressman Belmonte’s Sapa Ko, Mahal Ko project.
During the said launch, MNTC turned over river cleaning materials such as rakes and rubber boots to residents of Barangay Apolonio Samson and Barangay Baesa in the city’s 6th District, which Belmonte represents.
“We will also continue our regular cleanup of the Tullahan River, as improving our waterways is part of ensuring a healthier, better communities,” MNTC Vice-President for Corporate Communication Marlene N. Ochoa said.
