MNTC installs WIM for anti-overloading drive

July 15, 2009

Manila North Tollways Corporation (MNTC) senior vice president Luigi Bautista (middle) vice president Raul L. Ignacio, and senior manager Jennifer Jane Go oversee the fitting of a weigh-in-motion (WIM) platform at Balintawak toll plaza of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX). WIM, which weighs a truck's axle weight while approaching dedicated truck lanes, is part of MNTC's anti-overloading campaign to promote road safety. This state-of-the-art device prevents delays at NLEX entry points as compliant trucks will no longer be stopped for the weigh-in.
